it looks like they are rebuilding old jawa motorcycles in india, but they can only be sold in india at the moment from what i read, i wonder if they would be able to remake the suzuki re5, if they were interested?.

Yes! A socialist car and no you can’t buy a bloody toyota you buy the NZ car with Skoda mechanics.
Police ones get the 4 wd high output version we get the plain turbo and DCT.

FD3S. 240Z

mrfxit, Mar 25, 9:12am
LMAO, none of those "reborn" examples look even close to the original.
Very basic misty eye styling maybe but nothing more
They are all bloated bling loaded hairdresser styling versions

Any car that was a combo of cheap, popular & surprisingly good handling for the day (even if the factory handling just need tweaking a little)

Those models are the ones that could get financial backing & likely to get good modern day sales rebuilt with modern suspension, safety & comfort systems but skinned with a modern replicated body skin.

For the cheaper & smaller cars.
Torana's/ Sunbirds/ FD Victors/ Mk1,2,3,4 Cortina / Mk1,2 Escort/ Mk 1,2 Capri, Series 5 Super Minx & Hunters/ Rapiers/ Alpines

The bigger cars are a tricky mixed bag because quality is all over the place for the combo of cheap, popular & surprisingly good handling in a single model.

Anything that rusted bad but was popular would be a good start

Yep agree about the Z's, mk1,2 styled versions were great but got bloated really fast after that.
Same with the Supra's (tho they already were bloated)

Tho bloat in later models of sports cars was a common thing back then

FD with modern suspension & a version of the 4ltr Falcon motor & Toyota 5sp

mrfxit, Mar 25, 9:38am
Any of the tripples with a revised /smoother power band & modern suspension/ brakes, but still looking the same stying.
That power band was brutal if you open it wide open too soon

Land Cruiser 105 (Basically a 100 series body on an 80 series chassis, with solid axles at both ends, and basic but loved systems like part time 4x4 & manual locking front hubs). Would be quite desirable with a modern engine etc. - Definitely a market segment for something with similar capability to a 70 series, but with a nicer and slightly larger body.

Ford Bronco. - Actually happening

Y61 GQ patrol. - While the fairly massive, full independent suspention Y62 patrol is nice, it is really in a different segment. In some markets they sold both in parallel for some time.

Any kind of large RWD wagon (not the shorter "sportswagon's" that are popular these days.

Subaru legacy wagon. - Levorg has replaced the older smaller ones, but those after the last shape legacy wagon are forced into the outback.

Mitsubishi EVO

Brutal is perfect, real men ride drum.

apollo11, Mar 25, 12:15pm
Would you settle for a barrel?

loose.unit8, Mar 25, 12:21pm
Weren't they designed in the US. Looks too american for me

loose.unit8, Mar 25, 12:23pm
ae86 / gt86 wasn't a bad resurrection.

Would have been nice to have more power in the remake.

I'm not so keen on the mk6 supra though.

bill1451, Mar 25, 1:27pm
Scaled down version of a Chev Nova or Chevelle with rear wheel drive and V6
or a Chev corvair ute (side loader) with decent suspension.
Updated 1.8l Volvo 2 door coupe, ahh the memories, maybe a slightly stretched Morry 1000 with RWD and power plant that would do more than 70mph (mine did 70mph flat out with surfboard on top)

saki, Mar 25, 2:22pm
mine as well and never own a Datto in my life.

apollo11, Mar 25, 3:24pm
Jazz isn't here to say it, so I'll say it for him. Fiat Multipla.

gph1961, Mar 25, 5:00pm
what a disgusting thing to say

bitsy_boffin, Mar 25, 5:22pm
Messerschmitt KR200 (bubble car). Indeed any of the microcars of that era. Make them electric for extra kicks.

Cars are too big these days!

car__parts, Mar 25, 6:56pm
Hillman Imp.

apollo11, Mar 25, 7:02pm
Sir Clive Sinclair had a go.

apollo11, Mar 25, 7:03pm
Hey, at least I didn't say Hillman Imp!

gph1961, Mar 25, 7:21pm
true
i did have a small soft spot for them
and my the size of the clutch plate

tygertung, Mar 25, 7:45pm
Quite a bit of power, but quite heavy too.

I've still got an RZ350 F2 in my shed, has heaps of power and good handling. They have not much power (only 60 HP), but are much lighter. Because they are light, the 110 tyre on the back has no problem with you laying it right over on a corner with sparks flying off the chambers and applying full throttle. I think a lot of the wider tyres on bikes these days are just for looks.

tygertung, Mar 25, 7:50pm
Bring back the 2 stroke road bikes. Really fast but out of control fuel consumption.

apollo11, Mar 25, 8:11pm
One of my ex-stepfathers had a Hillman Hunter. Unfortunately he was a mean prick and ruined the brand for me lol.
