Congratulations Jaz.
For a few days you've had me, & a few others I suspect, thinking you actually believe what you've been posting.
Good on you. LOL

HEY GUYS-- Look we aren't ever going to agree on this issue.
One side says Doc at fault
the other says cop at fault.
This thread is now degenerating into namecalling and personal insults which is pretty silly. How about we drop it andmove on.

From the Radio New Zealand reporting on the matter
"During today's hearing the dead woman's son asked hospital staff why no doctor was available on site to deal with the emergency.

The court heard the specialist on duty was already involved in emergency surgery and the incident involving Mrs Senibuli was very rare.

Earlier, the coroner was told that the delay caused when Mr O'Connor was stopped by a police officer as he sped back to Hutt Hospital on the emergency call did not contribute to Mrs Senibuli's death.

Mr O'Connor was stopped for speeding and was breath tested before being allowed to continue.

The Coroner has questioned why the officer did not exercise discretion and let him drive on when he had established he was a doctor."

That clarifies that there was a Doctor already on duty but he was tied up with something else, the delay wasn't responsible for Mrs Senibuli's death and the Coroner is also interested in the duration of the roadside delay. It will all be part of the final report.

There is no mention of a "5 minutes" in that article I linked to. Maybe you've read one that says that, if so feel free to put a link up in here so we can all read it too.

Secondly, as mentioned by Weaver2010, I have been pulled over whilst responding to a fire call. Out of town cop, he didn't know me. Breath test and an ID check and that was it and fair enough too. Don't like the laws! Work to change 'em, write to your MP, get on the TV with Campbell, get peoples signatures saying you want a change. (Although I note that all you've done is post in an internet forum saying "The sooner people speak up.")

Possibly you've a bee in your bonnet about ticket issuing (or being issued a ticket!), well, since the MOT and Police were merged were kinda stuck with how things are but again, work for change if you don't like the way things are.
