did you tell them "well if you don't want to see this car back here again, you better make sure you do the job properly then aye, or you'll see it here as many times as deemed necessary till the problem is fixed"

curiousgrl, Apr 9, 1:22am
but the attitude i got from the mechanic when needed new part really made me think .if I was actually PAYING money for that job to be done i would of hoped back in my car and went somewhere else for that to be fixed the attitude is not good standard of customer service. lucky it was under warranty and paid nothing. and then this just really tops it off

hahaha I did actuallly went picked it up went fixed it properly . so like i said earlieril keep going back. there is alot i could say about the story but wont

wouldn't surprise me if they issued their own WOF

n1smo_gtir, Apr 9, 1:35am
it's good if they read this so they know that people are not afraid to speak up in public forum, some people would even name and shame knowing someone will read it. then they'll think again about pulling dodgys as it's their business reputation at stake. good on you for sticking up for your self and not let they walk over you. been how low k your car is, they should blardy fix the damn thing especially if under warranty that you paid for. as for the d1ck's attitude, who cares about him, if he don't want to see you over and over again, do the job properly. simple=D i've come across plenty of people such as himself.

It's a big call to say this is dodgy though - I'd be surprised if the dealer had checked that the spare space-saver had fitted. As for the gearbox thing, well that happens and they fixed it.

Admit the mechanic shouldn't have had an attitude after the repair though. Seems a very strange thing to say.

il rather stick an advert in local paper not to buy from this dealer lol

CG -I'll start by saying I am a car dealer so biased of course.
Other than a personality conflict between you and the dealers mechanic I can't see your reason for doing this.
There WAS a fault in the gearbox which was fixed by the dealer. I assume it was not faulty at time of purchase so the dealer had no way of knowing it was going to become faulty.
Then someone somewhere sometime put the wrong spacesaver in the car. yes I agree thats a real pain in the rear and of course the dealer should and I'm sure WILL supply you with the correct spare.
But in fairness. If the spacey has the same stud pattern and looks about righthow would the dealer know its the wrong one for that car!
we dont jack every car up just to see if the spacesaver fits. We just naturally assume that its the correct one for that car.
If you decided to go down the path you propose above I'd suggest you would probably get taken to court and in all probability with the faults above and dealer reaction -(ie he fixed the gearbox) you would loose.
This looks to be one of those "stuff happens" situations
Incidentlythe "3 month warranty" you mentioned -what company anywhere supplies a 3 month warranty! --that sounds to me like he is offering you heis legal obligation under the CGA and SOGA whichcan NEVER be quantified by the dealer-ie you can't say its a time period

just because one car dealer has had a negative experience with with some people doesnt mean "ALL CAR DEALERS" have problems. and as they stated earlier its the luck of the draw when buying a car.

i think also earlier it says also how many people would check space savers anyway when test driving cars! it doesnt come up until a flat tyre happens. cars can be draining esp when you work alot of hours every week also

What the heck are you going on about! Your reply makes no sense at all.
I'm making the point that the dealer wouldn't take kindly to defamation --ie taking an advert out saying dont buy from #### when in fact the dealer has clearly repaired the gearbox fault and in the case of the space saver likely had no more idea than the OP that the spare was the wrong one.
