I sure as hell wouldn't, they're overall just a pain in the arse, they need proper ventilation, are an OSH nightmare and have got limited uses compared to hoists. The other thing with hoists is that if you move it can come with you. Even the heavy transport repair industry are moving away from them.

How do you get on welding and stuff in there! I thought it'd stink the house out just prior to your missus going ballistic at you! What size is your lathe! I sold my Stankoimport recently and am after something with around 500 diameter swing (if you know of anything in the lower NI region)
