If you compare the new car specs for the manual 4wdLegacys and Imprezas, they use about the same amount of gas. Legacy much bigger car, same sized engine.

'86 Honda City, 5.5 l/100km over about 50 km/day of mixed driving. It will do 4.5 if you really try, but life get's a bit short for that.At 5.5 it's quite a lively little car.
'72 Landrover, too scared to work it out, but about 3-4x the shitty.

After switching to the commodore - i asked a few people in the know who said that commodores are quite economical, however maybe a standard 2litre camry may not be as thirsty

5.7 litre Holden, spend anywhere from $100 per week to 3 times that depending on where and how I drive it. Around town its a shocker @ a minimum of 13litres per 100km but open road it can be as good as 10 litres per 100km. Really giving it death it has hit pretty much a litre a Km. though that is going rather fast (104kph of course).

Stuck in 1st was it! If you want to make these motors realy uneconomical, transplant it into a boat. Around 60 liters an hour or 12 gallons for about 30 miles, under load.

I got bored by the time I finished reading the first paragraph. So, I was hoping you just make a simple short and sharp reply to the title of the thread. Your Fiats got lost somewhere in the thread.

1998 Audi A4 TDI 52.3mpg (Top Gear magazine Jan. 1998) I think that's about 5.5 L/100kms. Wouldn't win any drags without a chip but love the torque at 100kph or thereabouts.

I wonder if all the measurements would be getting smaller or over exaggerated if this was a Penis measuring competion!MMMM probably. Just bought a 2002 Honda accord LXi 2.3 litre. Drove it from Allanton 20 K;s south of dunedin to Timaru and about 15 to 20 K's running around totaling just302 K's, on 22.7 litres. Works out at around 7.51 L per 100 K's or 37.6 MPG
