Haha yeah, a little trap for those suspicious buyers lol. A little irony there for the tinfoil hat wearers.

marte, May 11, 11:49pm
Yeah, at the lower price that you offered them.and they turned it down at the time.

joanie32, May 11, 11:59pm
Im in sales and cant believe the idots I come across. asking questions and not accepting the correct answers. I am always telling people theres only one in stock in NZ at this price so you have to be quick, and three weeks later saying sorrythe last one has sold, because it does happen. The saying I say in my head everyday is"buyers are lyers".,

curlcrown, May 12, 12:42am
Often at a higher price.

rover79, May 12, 3:28am
Out of every ten times you said that to a buyer how often would it actually happen!

kazbanz, May 12, 3:56am
Actually I must say in 100% honesty it happens EVERY time.
Due to a head injury a few years back I can't remember sod allso telling the truth has proven to be the ONLY way to go.
In fairness when I think about itin reality its actually 75% of the time -but the reason why is because the second person has believed me 25% of the time and has put a deposit down-and the origonal punter has come back after making their mind up -to be disapointed.

kazbanz, May 12, 3:58am
actually in fairness thats about 50/50some its in essence the same dealand the other half the deal has worked out better for the dealership.

pebbles61, May 13, 1:54am
They don't call them stealerships for nothing.

I would never buy a second hand car from a dealership, perhaps a motorcycle. Only things I buy from them are new motorcycles. Funny enough I had the "oh we have someone interested in this bike" line given to me once when I was buying my lastest one. I did get it, and a month later dropping her off for her first service I bumped into the guy who wanted to buy it and had to settle for the other one (same bike, different colour/accessories etc)

mugenb20b, May 13, 5:15am
OK, seriously.who gives a rat's arse what the car's CoD is! I never have and never will care about useless pieces of information like that.

outbidyou2, May 13, 6:12am
haha kaz, dont take it personally mate, I dont think OP was directed at you

sw20, May 13, 6:34am
Not sure if actually serious.

icemans1, May 13, 7:54am
i hate it when ya go to a yard and as soon as a salesman sees you, they pounce on you. i know what i want when i go to a yard. the worst one i've been to is on gt north road, new lynn, auckland. i told the guy what i wanted, he said he had one in turbo,i told him i thought turbos are cr@p, he muttered something then left me to it LOL

icemans1, May 13, 7:56am
don't worry he won't, he's better than that

shaun16, May 13, 1:14pm
when youre buying a gas guzzler. "they arent that bad on fuel and they have lots of power and comfort" when selling the gas guzzler back to them. "its hard to move the bigger cars as people want somthing more economical"

kazbanz, May 13, 5:15pm
nahh mate I don't take that stuff personally.
To be honest I just shudder that there are still "old school" salesmen out there.

kazbanz, May 13, 5:20pm
Hey Pebblesyou come across on here as a pretty inteligent person.
and don't say things for the fun of it. So WHY wouldn't you buy a second hand car from a car dealer!
Assuming of course it was the same year/make/model/ milage etc as one you can get privately and at the same money!
Sok I'm not having a dig at ya but I vcan't understand the logic.

bellky, May 13, 5:38pm
Nor would I.

xpfairmont, May 13, 5:41pm
That's what I was thinking, does he really expect the design team to double as salesmen! Looks like he just went in to say " I know something that you don't"

kazbanz, May 13, 5:57pm
I have to admit people like that are the very hardest to talk with especially if they aren't actually the customer but are the "expert advisor'
I had one of those yesterday who put his freind off a vehicles because it "was" cvt transmission and had a very poor engine desighn.
Fair enough if he was correct but it was a 1800 bluebird with a 4 stage auto fitted.

I was wanting to buy a house in Invercargill.

They had a vacant house for sale @ $20,000, it needed work.

I had $18,000 & a flat in Ingill, a bedsit in Dunedin & storage in Chch.
So I offered $18,000, they said "I'll offer that & get back to you".
A month later they said "No, we think we can get more than 18K"

2 months later they called me back & said they'd take $18,000.
I said" I have spent 2k on rent while they dithered about, so I will offer 16K"
"Nah", they said.

2 months later they called me back & said they'd take $16,000.
I said" I have spent 2k on rent while they dithered about, so I will offer 14K"
"Nah", they said.
They got back to me a month later, "We will take 14K"

I said" I have spent 2k on rent while they dithered about, so I will offer 12K"
"Nah", they said. "We have had a better offer"
Yeah I know, I offered it.

3 months later they call me & say "They will take the 12K offer"
I said "I have spent 2k on rent while they dithered about, so I will offer 10K"
"Nah" they said "Theres other people interested in it"
I say "I know those people, they are not interested, they brought a different house"

3 Months later I get a phone call.
"They will take the 10k offer"
I said ""I have spent 2k on rent while they dithered about, so I can only offer $9,500at the most, that leaves me with no money left over".

A month later I get a phone call.
"The banks going to repo their other house because of unpaid loans (they used it to finance the house buy) They will take $9,500 for it.

So after the sale, they got $7,000.
Which probably didn't even pay for their loan.

When I went to shift into the house, a year after my 18k offer,
they has stolen all of the doors.

kazbanz, May 14, 1:28am
Thats the thing marte-If we all could accurately predict the future then we would be billionares.

richynuts, May 14, 1:54am
No matter what car you go to look at, it will be the 'best one' on the yard.

richynuts, May 14, 1:58am
That was funny as!

mugenb20b, May 14, 2:00am
They stole all the doors! What a bunch of no hopers!

gunhand, May 14, 2:04am
Actually can not say Ive had to many "lines" from dealers, a few who have lost good sales through lack of interest or willing to go the extra mile and nothin to do with discounts or wanting high trade prices either.
But I have asked a dealer I have dealt with 4 times now if there was or he new of the same sort of car coming in with higher Kms and maybe a bit cheaper. Nope none at all. So when I went to pick up the car I got low and behold there was one, same colour slightly less spec (depnding how you looked at it)and 40thou more Kms and 2k cheaper. Hmmmmm I thought. He did say he forgot about that one coming in. But Im very very happy with what I got anyway but I would ahve certainly looked at it as an option as well.
